 Do
you ever get fed up of offers promising great riches for a few
minutes a day by purchasing some phenomenal "Holy Grail"
trading systems that are advertised? These systems which
promise much, but deliver very little. Just read these
system's carefully worded "terms and conditions" ... that will
tell you all you need to know about their promises.
As many of you know, I have been running trading workshops
around the UK for nearly 4 years. Often I meet people who have
spent over £2500 on a single days training with 60-80 other
people. They say what a total rip off it was.
Recently two gentlemen on one of my courses had just joined
the "XXXXline System" costing a staggering £5000 (one got a
free laptop!). Another, was struggling to make a start in
trading after buying software with a trend following system
for nearly £3000. One person had given £7000 to a certain
person and still did not know how to place a trade!!! You can
still go to this conman's free seminar in the London area.
We all make mistakes, and the biggest and most frustrating one
is paying a large amount of money for expensive training and
trading systems, especially if you are new to trading. It was
with this in mind that I decided to put onto CD my own
simplified Trend Trading System, called "The Tornado Trend
Trading System".
 Firstly,
all those who know me understand that I like to keep trading
simplified. I like beginners to concentrate on the basic
principals of trading. Basic indicators, chart patterns, a
good solid grounding in financial management and controlling
emotions, a few dabs of trading plans and motivation, record
keeping and support. Then you are on your way.
But I am fascinated by the fact that many people just want a
simplified trading system without having to go on workshops or
courses. So due to demand from many of my students I decided
to develop and market my own system.
Like any system you pick up ideas over the years from a
variety of sources, mainly reading great articles from
abundant sources and many websites and forums, and the
contributors within them. You pinch an idea from here, combine
it with a indicator from there, you set the software up etc.
Nothing is really new in this industry, it is just a matter of
packaging it so people can understand it. Try it (without
cost), test it over time and hopefully take advantage of the
work involved in developing and promoting it. This is how I
created the "Tornado" System.
No system is perfect, you could put my parameters into a
mechanical back-testing system and the results would not be
great - that's honest, but then if there were a good
mechanical system we would all be using this now, correct?
The advantage of the Tornado is that it may allow you to keep
control, spot great opportunities, and keep you out of trouble
when trading during indecisive periods, it may work in any
time frame.
